Emirates promotes US services
09 July 2008
Emirates has promoted the forthcoming launch of the world's first non-stop flights from Dubai to Los Angeles and San Francisco at a number of roadshows on America's west coast.
The final instalment of its series of five shows was held at the Fairmont San Jose in California, where the star appearance was made by the airline's new first class private suite.
This suite includes an extra-large seat that can recline to become a fully-flat bed, a 23-inch widescreen television, a coat closet and a personal mini-bar.
Other roadshows to promote Emirates' flights to the west coast of America were held in Phoenix, San Francisco, Orange County and Los Angeles.
The airline will launch its service from Dubai to Los Angeles on 1 October before its connection between Dubai and San Francisco begins on 20 November.
Nigel Page, Emirates' senior vice-president of commercial operations for the Americas, said: 'The San Francisco Bay area is undoubtedly one of the most innovative high-tech business centres in the US, if not the world. Emirates' direct route will create a new, highly convenient opportunity for Bay area companies to do business in Dubai.
'Our new Los Angeles service will connect travellers to the capital of the world's entertainment industry.'
