Bmi carrier to launch new Scandinavia services
10 July 2008
Bmi subsidiary bmi regional has announced plans to launch new flights from Leeds Bradford international airport to destinations in Scandinavia.
The new connections, which will begin on 1 September, are the result of an extended codeshare agreement between bmi and Scandinavian carrier SAS.
Travellers in the Yorkshire area will be able to access improved connections to Stockholm, Copenhagen and Oslo, which will operate via Brussels.
These new day-return options will create a schedule offering up to three daily departures to the capital cities.
Bmi regional commercial director Peter Kenworthy said: 'We are delighted that the extended agreement with SAS offers passengers from Leeds Bradford quick and easy connections and will complement the direct flights bmi regional already operates between the UK and Scandinavia.
'The agreement gives our passengers real flexibility when travelling and the timings of the flights allow passengers to combine a number of cities in their travel itinerary.'
According to Civil Aviation Authority figures, bmi regional has been the UK's most punctual airline this year.
