Coldplay hit the road

British megaband Coldplay will today (14 July) kick off their 2008 world tour, giving music fans all over the world plenty of opportunities to combine a holiday with a concert.
The four-piece will perform their first gigs on the west coast of the USA, in Los Angeles and San Jose, before heading to Las Vegas, Chicago, Montreal, Boston and others.
Osaka and Tokyo in Japan will host the band on 4 and 9 August before they head to Europe to play Strasbourg on 1 September.
Holidaymakers on the continent will have opportunities to see Coldplay perform in a number of locations, including Lyon (4 September), Barcelona (6 September), Oslo (19 September) and Prague (22 September).
Coldplay will play dozens more shows throughout Europe and the US before rounding off their tour in Belfast on 19 December.
This extensive trip around the world is in support of Viva la Vida, the band's fourth studio album, which was released in June this year.
