Tourists invited to take part in Aussie cycle race

The South Australia Tourism Commission has invited tourists to visit the country next January to experience the Tour Down Under cycle race.
This event is reportedly the only ProTour cycling race outside Europe and in the southern hemisphere.
Cycling enthusiasts will have the opportunity to ride sections of the race, watch the professionals competing up close and meet some famous sporting stars.
Tour Down Under will be celebrating its tenth anniversary next year and is expected to attract as many top teams and riders as ever.
The competition consists of a total of six days of competition, which cover more than 800km of the Australian landscape.
More than 500,000 people are expected to gather along the routes, which stretch through Adelaide, the Fleurieu peninsula, Mawson Lakes and Angaston, among other locations.
The 2009 tour will take place from 20 to 27 January.
