Oneworld connections improved in Tokyo
23 July 2008
Oneworld has announced improvements in the speed of domestic to international connections at Tokyo Narita airport in Japan.
Minimum connection times between domestic flights offered by Japan Airlines and international services operated by all oneworld partner carriers have been reduced by 25% from 80 to 60 minutes.
The improvement follows the opening of an exclusive passport control area and security checkpoint for connecting passengers.
This means that these customers can proceed directly from the domestic arrival lobby to the international departures area.
Japan Airlines provides links from Tokyo Narita to four domestic locations Sapporo, Nagoya Chubu, Osaka Itami and Fukuoka.
People travelling from these destinations can connect via Tokyo to international flights with American Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Finnair and Qantas.
In other recent oneworld news, Tumbes became the alliance's 13th destination in Peru, with affiliate carrier LAN Peru launching flights to the city from Lima.
