New fast-track service available at Bristol
25 July 2008
A new service has been launched at Bristol to offer travellers quicker transit through security to their departure lounge.
The 'fly thru' initiative will commence on 5 August and will enable passengers to make their way directly to a dedicated channel that takes them to the security search area.
Tickets for the service cost £5 per passenger and can currently be purchased at kiosks in the terminal or through advance online bookings.
Bristol airport launched the initiative after a survey found that 60 per cent of business passengers would be interested in using a facility that hastened their progress to the departure lounge.
Alison Roberts, the airport's general manager of terminal operations, said: 'Our customers told us that they wanted more time to relax in the departure lounge and less time spent in queues. We've listened and introduced improvements which have significantly reduced queues to the security search area.
'However, some passengers, particularly those travelling regularly on business, want to guarantee an even quicker journey through the airport, and that's why we have introduced the fly thru option.'
A number of major airlines operate from Bristol airport, including Air France, Continental Airlines and Lufthansa, to destinations such as Salzburg, Toronto, New York and Marrakech.
Opodo cheap flights, hotels and car hire - let the journey begin!
