Loch Lomond plane trip 'a must-do activity'
30 July 2008
A UK-wide survey has found that visitors to Scotland consider a trip on a Loch Lomond seaplane as one of the best ways to see the country's west coast.
VisitScotland commissioned an online review of the top ten ways to spend a day north of the border, with visitors asked to list their favourites out of 108,000 different activities.
Loch Lomond seaplane trips were voted among the top attractions in almost every region of the UK.
Furthermore, Scots themselves said that the activity is the country's number one 'must-do' excursion for sightseers.
David West, founder of Loch Lomond seaplanes, said: 'If I was going to visit another country and wanted to find out about the best places to go and things to do I would ask a local for their opinion, so it's a tremendous honour to have been voted best day out by the people who really know what's on offer.
'There are a lot of fine ways to spend a day in Scotland but I can guarantee you'll see a lot more of the spectacular scenery and in far greater comfort onboard a seaplane.'
Other activities to receive positive reviews in the VisitScotland survey included watching bottlenose dolphins in the Moray Firth, walking the West Highland Way and white-water rafting on the River Tay.
