Brittany hoping to lure golf visitors
31 July 2008

The French region of Brittany is hoping to lure golf enthusiasts with a number of discounts and special offers.

Throughout 2008-09, visitors will be able to take advantage of the Bretagne golf pass, which reduces green fees by 20% at 22 golf courses.

Holidaymakers can visit Gold de la Freslonniere, near the regional capital of Rennes, which includes a family-friendly area aimed at four- to six-year-olds.

Student visitors to this course can obtain one-day access to the beginners' course for just €6 (£4.70) on presentation of their student card.

Brittany, a province in north-west France, offers a total of 34 golf courses, ranging from coastal locations to wooded inland retreats.

The region is also home to the second oldest golf course in France, which was designed by Scotsman Tom Dinard, and a course at Belle Isle en Mer that features a green surrounded by the sea at the second hole.
