Lufthansa, TAM to team up on Germany-Brazil flights
11 August 2008

German airline Lufthansa and Brazilian carrier TAM are to offer joint flights between their respective countries.

The codeshare services will operate between either Frankfurt or Munich and Sao Paulo from 18 August.

Customers will be able to access 21 flights per week between Germany and Brazil in addition to connections to the airlines' domestic destinations.

Those flying to Brazil will be able to make use of dedicated transfer counters that have been installed at Sao Paul airport by TAM to simplify connections.

Gotz Ahmelmann of Lufthansa said: 'The codeshare agreement with our partner TAM will provide our passengers with seamless connections to further domestic destinations via Frankfurt and Sao Paulo.

'Our passengers will be able to reach these airports conveniently with only one check-in at the start of their journey.'

The codeshare services, which can be booked with immediate effect, mean that Lufthansa now includes Rio de Janeiro, Porto Alegre, Curitiba and Brasilia in its network.
