Travellers urged to visit Bay of Kotor
21 August 2008

The Bay of Kotor is one of the locations in Montenegro that tourists should ensure they visit, according to BuyAssociation.

Paul Collins, property editor for the company, which offers impartial advice to people considering moving overseas, described the bay as 'an incredible attraction'.

Montenegro, which is located in south-eastern Europe and shares borders with Croatia, Serbia and Albania, has been welcoming an increasing number of foreign visitors in recent years.

Commenting on this trend, Mr Collins said that it was partly a knock-on effect of the increase in popularity that Croatia has enjoyed in recent years.

He said that people began to extend their trips to Montenegro and when they got there they realised that it is 'an absolutely beautiful country' with a similar coastline to Croatia.

Mr Collins added: 'One of the biggest attractions is the Bay of Kotor, which is one of the largest inland seas in the world.

'It's actually a world heritage site. That's an incredible attraction and has beautiful towns around the whole bay.'

Flights to Podgorica, the capital of Montenegro, are available with carriers including Austrian Airlines, bmi and British Airways.
