London to host 52nd Film Festival
29 August 2008

London will once again play host to the most famous and influential figures from the movie industry this year for the 52nd Times BFI Film Festival.

The event, set to take place from 15 to 30 October, will see dozens of film screenings held all over the city, at venues including the Odeon West End and the BFI Southbank.

World premieres are often seen as the highlights of international film festivals and London's event will this year screen the political drama Frost/Nixon.

Starring Michael Sheen and Frank Langella, this film tells the story of the now-famous interviews between David Frost and former president Richard Nixon in 1977, three years after Nixon had resigned in disgrace following the Watergate scandal.

Big films like this will inevitably grab all the headlines, but there will be plenty of other works being shown around the city for visitors to enjoy.

Tickets will be made available to BFI members from 18 September and put on general sale on 27 September.
