BA opens business class check-in at T5
04 September 2008
British Airways (BA) has announced the opening of a dedicated check-in area for people catching business class flights from Heathrow airport's Terminal 5.
The area, which opened on 3 September, is located at zone H at the far end of Terminal 5 next to the airline's first-class check-in area.
Customers who have checked in online up to 24 hours prior to their flight can travel to the dedicated zone to use self-service kiosks and drop off their bags.
Paul Nickson, customer experience manager at Terminal 5, said that the Heathrow facility has now handled more than 7m passengers.
He added: 'We're looking forward to moving a further 30 long-haul flights into the terminal on 17 September.
'This increased capacity means that even more business class customers are flying through Terminal 5 so it's a good time to introduce the dedicated zone.'
T-Mobile announced this week that it is set to turn Terminal 5 into its biggest Wi-Fi hotspot in the UK, meaning travellers will be able to use their laptops, phones and digital devices to access the internet from the terminal.
