Continental to launch new flights to Rio de Janeiro
09 September 2008
Continental Airlines is set to boost its flight network in the Americas with a new service connecting its hub in Houston, Texas to Rio de Janeiro in Brazil.
The new flight will operate three times a week, on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, from 17 December to 28 February 2009.
John Slater, Continental's managing director for North America, said that the service will prove useful for corporate customers as it connects two significant oil markets.
He also pointed out that the flight will provide greater access to 'one of the most exciting tourist destinations in the world'.
The non-stop connection between Rio de Janeiro and Houston will be scheduled to offer convenient connections at Continental's Texas base to more than 160 cities throughout the United States, Canada, Europe and elsewhere.
Continental currently offers a daily service from New York's Newark airport to Sao Paulo in Brazil.
