Tenerife opens new water park

Tenerife is set to become an even more popular holiday destination from this week with the opening of Siam Park, Europe's biggest water park.
The brand new complex, which is set out with a Thai theme, is near the popular holiday regions of Playa de las Americas and Costa Adeje and will begin welcoming visitors over the coming days.
A number of attractions at Siam Park will prove popular with thrill-seekers, including the Tower of Power, which sends riders down an almost vertical drop that leads through a tank populated by tropical fish and Mississippi alligators.
Other exciting rides include the Dragon and the Mekong Rapids, while there are more relaxing options on offer in the form of the Mai Thai River and the white-sand Siam Beach.
Visitors can also enjoy the services of a beach club, cafes, restaurants and an amphitheatre that will host regular events.
According to a review in the Times, Siam Park has many aspects and advantages that place it ahead of some of America's major water parks, including those at Disney World in Orlando, Florida.
