Luton airport invests £2m in customer facilities

London Luton airport has announced a £2m investment to improve customer experience.
The airport's operating company announced plans to commence major enhancements to its central terminal area that will include improvements to the drop-off zone facilities and the short-term car park.
Work, which will reportedly benefit both arriving and departing passengers, will begin this month and go on until Easter 2009.
It was recently announced that Luton airport handled more than 1m passengers in August, making it the busiest month in the airport's history.
Natalie Raper, the airport's marketing director, said: 'Achieving record passenger traffic in the current economic climate is a fantastic performance.
'We are committed to continual development in order to meet the needs of our passengers and airline partners and these results demonstrate that we are achieving this.'
Luton airport hosts flights from airlines including Flybe and Aer Arann to destinations ranging from Tenerife and Faro to Bucharest and Warsaw.
