New store launched at Newcastle airport
17 July 2008
People travelling from Newcastle airport now have a new way to spend the time before their flight following the opening of a new store.
The 1,000-square-metre Biza store was opened by the Alpha retail group on 15 July and promises to offer an 'inspirational, exciting and satisfying airport shopping experience'.
A range of products from a range of brands are sold in the store in 'boutique-style' groupings.
Travellers can also make use of a home delivery service which means that they do not have to fly with the items they purchase.
Commenting on the aims of the store, Reg Curtis, UK managing director of Alpha group, said: 'We wanted people to feel that their holiday had already begun, as they browsed the store, discovering the expected, as well as the unexpected.
'Biza places Newcastle airport at the cutting edge of travel retail innovation and gives the airport's travellers an exceptional experience that we believe will encourage them to make the store an essential destination on every journey they make.'
Flights are available from Newcastle to destinations including Antalya, Rome, Faro, Paris and Dusseldorf.
