Star Alliance picks up third straight business travel award
26 September 2008
Star Alliance, the airline group that includes members such as bmi, Lufthansa and US Airways, has won Business Traveller magazine's 'best airline alliance' award for the third consecutive year.
Business Traveller polled its readers between April and June this year and had the results analysed by an independent research company to decide its award winners.
According to Star Alliance, these awards are seen in the aviation industry as the top honours for the business travel sector, with some 46 different categories recognised.
Jaan Albrecht, chief executive of Star Alliance, said: 'Receiving the Business Traveller 'best airline alliance' award for the third consecutive year is continuing proof that Star Alliance continues to be the airline alliance of choice for the international traveller.
'My thanks also go to employees of our member carriers for delivering the Star Alliance customer promise across the worldwide network.'
In addition to its own award, Star Alliance celebrated the fact that three of its members received eight accolades from Business Traveller.
Singapore Airlines was the biggest winner, with six awards, while LOT Polish Airlines and South African Airways picked up one honour each.
