Singapore to celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival

Visitors to Singapore in September will notice an air of celebration if they pay a visit to the Chinatown quarter as it hosts the Mid-Autumn Festival.
This event is traditionally held on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month of the Chinese calendar, which equates to around mid- or late-September in the Gregorian calendar.
Chinatown in Singapore hosts events to mark this occasion throughout September, giving visitors plenty of opportunities to get into the atmosphere.
The Mid-Autumn Festival welcomes people of all races, cultures and nationalities and invites them to sample mooncakes traditional Chinese pastries and drink Chinese tea.
It is also a stunning visual spectacle, with themed lanterns and festive light displays arranged along the streets of Chinatown.
Visitors can enjoy the dazzling illuminations as they visit street stalls and head to nightly cultural stage shows held at Kreta Ayer square.
